If Every NFL Team Was Reset: Our 3-Round, 96-Pick Reset Draft

All 32 NFL teams start from zero. We mock three rounds from every current player, weighing age, injuries and positional value. Maye goes No. 1.

Blow it all up. Every NFL roster is wiped clean, every current player goes into one giant pool, and all 32 teams pick from zero. Who goes first?

This isn't a ranking of who is best right now. It's a ranking of who you'd want to build a franchise around for the next decade. That means four things count:

  • Age and longevity. A 24-year-old has more good years left than a 30-year-old. Ages are as of Oct. 29, 2026.
  • Injury history. Missed games and current reserve-list status cost players spots.
  • Positional value. QB first, then edge rusher, offensive tackle, cornerback and wide receiver. Running backs, guards and off-ball linebackers slide.
  • Production and ceiling. Real 2025 numbers and 2026 numbers through Week 7.

How the draft order works

We ran a random lottery for all 32 teams (seeded with today's date, 20261029), and every round uses the same order, just like the real draft. No trades, no compensatory picks.

Order: 1. CIN, 2. WAS, 3. KC, 4. LV, 5. DET, 6. HOU, 7. ARI, 8. BUF, 9. ATL, 10. PIT, 11. PHI, 12. LAC, 13. TB, 14. LAR, 15. NO, 16. TEN, 17. NYJ, 18. CAR, 19. MIA, 20. DAL, 21. BAL, 22. IND, 23. SF, 24. NE, 25. NYG, 26. CHI, 27. DEN, 28. JAX, 29. GB, 30. MIN, 31. CLE, 32. SEA.

The top 10

Pick Team Player Pos Age
1 CIN Drake Maye QB 24
2 WAS Josh Allen QB 30
3 KC Caleb Williams QB 24
4 LV Ja'Marr Chase WR 26
5 DET Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR 24
6 HOU Will Anderson Jr. EDGE 25
7 ARI Joe Burrow QB 29
8 BUF Lamar Jackson QB 29
9 ATL Jayden Daniels QB 25
10 PIT Aidan Hutchinson EDGE 26

The first three picks are all quarterbacks, and so are six of the top 10. In a reset league, a 24-year-old franchise QB is the most valuable asset in the sport. That's why Drake Maye edges Josh Allen at No. 1. Allen is the better player today, but Maye is six years younger.

Round 1

1. CIN: Drake Maye, QB, age 24. The ideal reset QB: 24, durable, and coming off a 31-TD season. Ten-plus years of prime ahead. 2025: 17 G, 4394 pass yds, 31 TD, 8 INT, 450 rush yds · 2026 thru Week 7: 7 G, 1784 pass yds, 13 TD, 8 INT, 211 rush yds

7. ARI: Joe Burrow, QB, age 29. Elite when healthy (15 TD in 6 games this year), but he played 8 games in 2025. The injury discount is why he's not top 3. 2025: 8 G, 1809 pass yds, 17 TD, 5 INT, 41 rush yds · 2026 thru Week 7: 6 G, 1653 pass yds, 15 TD, 3 INT, 60 rush yds

8. BUF: Lamar Jackson, QB, age 29. Two-time MVP talent at 29, but missed 4 games in 2025 and a run-heavy style ages faster. 2025: 13 G, 2549 pass yds, 21 TD, 7 INT, 349 rush yds · 2026 thru Week 7: 4 G, 967 pass yds, 6 TD, 1 INT, 144 rush yds

9. ATL: Jayden Daniels, QB, age 25. The ceiling is a top-5 QB. The worry: only 7 games in 2025. At 25 the bet is still worth it. 2025: 7 G, 1262 pass yds, 8 TD, 3 INT, 278 rush yds · 2026 thru Week 7: 4 G, 759 pass yds, 5 TD, 0 INT, 213 rush yds

12. LAC: C.J. Stroud, QB, age 25. 25, and 11 TD with only 1 INT through 7 games this year. The bounce-back is real. 2025: 14 G, 3041 pass yds, 19 TD, 8 INT, 209 rush yds · 2026 thru Week 7: 7 G, 1867 pass yds, 11 TD, 1 INT, 80 rush yds

13. TB: Micah Parsons, EDGE, age 27. Top-3 defender in the pool when right, but he's on the PUP list. The injury is the only reason he's here and not top 5. 2025: 14 G, 12.5 sacks, 12 TFL, 0 INT, 1 PD

OT+11
CB+10
RB+6
TE+5
DT+4
S+3
LB+3

G+2

The average age of all 96 picks is 25.3. Only a few players 30 or older made it: Josh Allen, Myles Garrett, Patrick Mahomes and Quenton Nelson. Each is still elite enough to be worth a short window.

Running backs were the biggest losers. Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs are top-15 talents, but they went in the 20s because the position wears down fast. Offensive tackles went the other way. Penei Sewell at No. 14 and Joe Alt at No. 24 went higher than their box scores would ever suggest, because a 23-year-old left tackle can protect your QB for a decade.

Injuries cost players too. Micah Parsons (PUP list), Joe Burrow (8 games in 2025) and Jayden Daniels (7 games in 2025) would all go higher on a healthy board.
