2026 NFL Redraft After Week 7: David Bailey Holds No. 1 as the Linebackers Take Over

Re-drafting the 2026 NFL class after Week 7. David Bailey stays No. 1, Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles climb, and Fernando Mendoza falls to 42.

Seven weeks in, the live 2026 NFL redraft has moved a long way from the board teams turned in back in April. On-field production now makes up about 62% of every player's score. The other 38% is still the draft-slot prior, so this is the first week where the season clearly outweighs the scouting reports. And the season so far belongs to defenders.

The new top 10

Re-drafted tonight, the first 10 picks go like this. "Orig." is where each player actually went in April. "Slot team" is the team that owns that pick in the original order.

Slot Slot team Player Pos Orig. Season so far
1 LVR David Bailey OLB 2 34 tkl, 5.5 sk, 7 TFL, 3 FF
2 NYJ Arvell Reese LB 5 55 tkl, 1.5 sk, 1 INT, 4 PD
3 ARI Sonny Styles LB 7 44 tkl, 1 sk, 1 INT, 4 PD, 1 FF
4 TEN Carnell Tate WR 4 34 rec, 413 yds, 1 TD
5 NYG Caleb Downs S 11 43 tkl, 1 sk, 2 FF
6 KAN Dillon Thieneman S 25 46 tkl, 1.5 sk, 1 INT, 5 PD
7 WAS Spencer Fano OT 9 100% of offensive snaps
8 NOR Francis Mauigoa OT 10 100% of offensive snaps
9 CLE Mansoor Delane CB 6 22 tkl, 1 INT, 3 PD in 4 games
10 NYG Jacob Rodriguez LB 43 60 tkl, 3 TFL, 1 INT

Bailey keeps the top spot with a score of 89.1. The Jets' pass rusher leads all rookies with 5.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles, and he's played 78.9% of the defensive snaps. Arvell Reese is right behind him at 87.8. Reese has the best performance score in the class (98) and has been on the field for 99.2% of the Giants' defensive snaps. Sonny Styles, Reese's teammate at Ohio State, rounds out the top three.

Carnell Tate is the only skill-position player in the top 10. He sits exactly where Tennessee picked him, at No. 4, with 34 catches for 413 yards. Ohio State has four of the top five: Reese, Styles, Tate and Downs.

The biggest steals so far

Two of the top 10 came off the board well outside the first round, and the steals keep stacking up further down:

Spots gained vs. draft slot (top 30 only)
Michael Taaffe (158 to 23)+135
Will Lee (129 to 30)+99
Austin Barber (86 to 28)+58
Anthony Hill (60 to 14)+46
Jake Slaughter (63 to 21)+42
Brandon Cisse (52 to 17)+35
Jacob Rodriguez (43 to 10)+33
  • Jacob Rodriguez went 43rd to Miami and now has 60 tackles in six games, playing 99.7% of the snaps. That earns him slot 10.
  • Michael Taaffe went 158th, also to Miami. His Rookie Impact score of 94.3 is third in the class: 33 tackles, 2 interceptions and a forced fumble. He's up to No. 23, and he gained six spots this week.
  • Anthony Hill, Tennessee's 60th pick, has never left the field (100% of snaps) and leads the top 15 with 68 tackles. He lands at No. 14.
  • Dillon Thieneman went 25th to Chicago and now goes sixth, after another two-spot jump this week.

Week 7 risers

These are the moves since the Week 6 board.

  • Caleb Douglas (WR, MIA, pick 75) climbed 14 spots to No. 67 after catching 2 of 3 targets for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Jets.
  • Barion Brown (WR, NO, pick 190) also climbed 14, to No. 123, on 3 catches for 57 yards against Pittsburgh.
  • Kendal Daniels (LB, ATL, pick 134) rose 9 spots to No. 44. He has 39 tackles, 4 TFL and an interception while playing only 55.3% of the snaps.
  • KC Concepcion (WR, CLE, pick 24) had the best rookie receiving day of the week: 8 catches on 10 targets for 129 yards, plus 23 rushing yards. He moved up 3 spots to No. 20.

Week 7 fallers

  • Fernando Mendoza (QB, LVR, pick 1) dropped 8 more spots to No. 42. The top pick has played 2.4% of the Raiders' snaps: one game, 6 of 8 passing for 48 yards. His score of 53.4 is now mostly draft-slot prior. That keeps him on the board, but every week on the bench costs him spots.
  • Jordyn Tyson (WR, NO, pick 8) lost 12 spots and is down to No. 130. He hasn't logged a regular-season snap yet.
  • Peter Woods (DT, KC, pick 29) is in the same spot, with no snaps. He slid 8 places to No. 170.

Broncos rookies watch

Denver's class hasn't made much of a mark yet. Running back Jonah Coleman (pick 108) is the top Bronco at No. 116. He's up 4 spots this week after 9 carries for 54 yards and 2 catches for 15 against Arizona. For the season he has 19 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Onyedim (pick 66), Kage Casey (111) and Justin Joly (152) have yet to play a regular-season snap, so they keep sliding.

How this board works

Each rookie's score blends a production rating built from nflverse stats and snap counts with a prior based on where he was drafted. The production side gains weight with every game played. Every-down availability counts, which is why 100%-snap tackles Spencer Fano and Francis Mauigoa sit in the top 10. The full formula is on the methodology page.
